"Designing Your Spring Vegetable Garden" class

Join us for a free garden class mini-series, "Designing Your Spring Vegetable Garden."

We'll cover vegetable rotations, aesthetic design, zone layout, companion planting, which vegetables are warm vs cool weather, and much more.

In fact, there's so much material that we'll be doing the class in two
segments:
Part 1 will be on Sat Feb 7
Part 2 will be on Sat Feb 28

The class runs from 9am to 10:30am. It is followed by a work session in the Garden (weather permitting, since rain is forecast for Sat Feb 7!).

This is part of the ongoing Organic Vegetable Gardening Class series at the Community Garden at Holy Nativity. Class will be held in either the nearby Community Hall or Classroom 5, 6700 W. 83rd, Westchester (LA 90045).

Weekly harvest sessions and light work days in the Garden are on Thursdays 4:30pm till dark. Most of the produce grown in the Garden is donated to needy local families via LAX Food Pantry. We hold the workday at this unusual time because it is just prior to the Food Pantry's distribution day, and that way the produce donated is very fresh.
Heavy workdays to expand the Garden are planned for Feb 28, Mar 7, and Mar 21 from 10:30am into early afternoon. We welcome your participation.

Garden Design classes will be taught by Joanne Poyourow, designer of the Community Garden and co-founder of the Environmental Change-Makers www.EnviroChangeMakers.org
