The Economy and the Environment - Feb 26

With the economy in such dismal shape, who can think about the environment? Learn how the answers to both are interrelated.

At the next general meeting of the Environmental Change-Makers, we'll talk about what's happening in the economy. We'll talk about the industrial growth paradigm, the impact of peak oil and biocapacity, and about David Holmgren's view of energy futures.
Learn what we can do to boost our local economy. We'll examine local currencies: what they are, and how they benefit the local community. What's a time bank? What does local currency mean? We'll find out what they're doing in San Luis Obispo/Santa Barbara, Echo Park, and Ithaca, NY. And we'll discuss possibilities for our local area(s).
Joanne Poyourow, co-founder of the Environmental Change-Makers, will lead the discussion. Joanne was a CPA in public practice for 13 years.
